Trisha Tubu made sure there was no need for another record-setting performance from Eli Rousseaux. The powerful lefty erupted for 21 points to lead the Farm Fresh Foxies to a commanding 25-19, 25-20, 25-16 sweep of the Cignal Super Spikers in the PVL Reinforced Conference at the Araneta Coliseum on Thursday, October 16.
It wasn’t just a routine victory — it was a continuation of Farm Fresh’s stunning run in the tournament. Coming off a four-set win over the Nxled Chameleons, the Foxies seized early control of Pool A in the two-group, 12-team conference, which has quickly become a breakout stage for several rising squads.
With Akari and ZUS Coffee also at 2-0 in Pool B, Farm Fresh’s back-to-back victories have added intrigue to the early narrative, putting the Foxies, Thunderbelles, and Chargers in the spotlight.

Tubu takes over as Farm Fresh maintains balance
“Sobrang saya namin kasi ito ang pinakamagandang start namin in any conference,” said Tubu, who doubled her 10-point output from the opener by converting 19 of 32 attack attempts. She credited her teammates and their composed approach.
“Mabibigat man ang kalaban, dapat ang mindset relax lang,” she added. “Lahat ng nahuhulog na bola, dapat gamitin.”
Coach Alessandro Lodi echoed that preparation was key. “We knew it would be for sure a difficult game because Cignal did not previously perform well. So we prepared for their reaction,” he said.

Though Rousseaux slowed down from her 38-point debut, she still posted 17 points and 11 digs, playing a supporting role this time. Ces Molina added 11 markers, while Rizza Cruz and Lorene Toring chipped in 11 combined. Setter Alohi Robins-Hardy dished out 24 excellent sets, with libero Alyssa Bertolano contributing 14 digs and 10 receptions.
Farm Fresh overwhelmed Cignal in attacks (52-34) and blocks (6-3), while also serving four aces. They conceded 16 points on errors but capitalized on 13 from Cignal.
Cignal struggles without Gandler
The Super Spikers were without Vanie Gandler due to a minor injury, and it showed. Import Eva Chantava led with 13 points, but no other player reached double digits. Ishie Lalongisip added six in two sets, while Jackie Acuña had three.
“Already not having Gandler clearly is a big help for us. I would always want the best lineup and all the best players to be on the court. This being said, we can only focus on what we can control and our side of the net and I think we delivered a strong performance today,” said Lodi.
Locked at 9-all in the third set, the Foxies broke away with a 9-2 run highlighted by Tubu’s four straight points, sealing the sweep in just one hour and 21 minutes.
Farm Fresh looks to keep its streak alive against Capital1, while Cignal will try to bounce back against unbeaten PLDT next Tuesday, both at the Araneta Coliseum.
