The Mohammed VI Exhibition Park in El Jadida will host the 16th Salon du Cheval from Sept. 30 to Oct. 5, 2025, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. This edition centers on the theme “Horse Welfare, a Link Between Equestrian Practices,” calling on breeders, riders, veterinarians and professionals to prioritize ethics, excellence and sustainability across disciplines.

Major competitive highlights include the Grand Prix of His Majesty King Mohammed VI for show jumping (CSI4W/CSI1) and for tbourida, alongside breed presentations for the Barbe, Arab-Barbe and purebred Arabian horses. The International Purebred Arabian Horse Show will be held this year as a Category A Title Show, a first for the event and a sign of its growing international standing.

Performances, heritage and innovation at the forefront

The artistic program brings several international firsts and high-profile demonstrations to Morocco. The Szilvásvárad State Stud Farm of Hungary will perform on African soil for the first time. Italian liberty dressage master Bartolo Messina, the contemporary vaulting and dressage duo Kevin Ferreira and Jérôme Sefer, and the Hungarian Post act of Christophe and Max Hasta Luego will appear alongside Moroccan institutions such as the Royal Gendarmerie, the DGSN and the SOREC Academy of Equestrian Arts. The week will also include three exclusive night shows and staged presentations designed to combine spectacle with a message of horse welfare.

Children’s area and professional space enrich visitor experience

A dedicated children’s program offers workshops, interactive sessions and guided demonstrations to introduce young visitors to horse care and safe horse-human interaction. The “Stand des Régions” will showcase regional craftsmanship — saddles, bridles, stirrups and traditional garments — while a large professional space will gather saddle-makers, equipment manufacturers, breeders, cooperatives, care centres, nutritionists and startups to foster business links and innovation across the equine value chain.

Organized since 2008 by the Association du Salon du Cheval under the presidency of Charif Moulay Abdallah Alaoui, the Salon remains a cornerstone for Morocco’s equine sector and a platform for preserving equestrian traditions while promoting professional development and rural socio-economic activity.
