Adamson University clinched the No. 1 semifinal seed in the 2025 V-League Collegiate Challenge after sweeping Colegio de San Juan de Letran, 25-18, 25-17, 25-16, on Wednesday afternoon at the Paco Arena Events and Sports Center.
The Lady Falcons extended their unbeaten streak to six matches in the eight-team tournament organized by Sports Vision, with Abby Segui and Frances Mordi complementing the efforts of Shaina Nitura, who tallied 10 points and seven excellent receptions against her older sister Judiel. Segui finished with 12 points on 10 attacks, one ace, and one block, while Mordi added 12 markers built on 10 attacks and two blocks.
Lady Falcons stay perfect
“We are thankful for this opportunity na No. 1 seed kami. We’re very glad na na-execute ng bata nang maayos yung plays today. Pero looking ahead, we’re a work in progress all the time so kailangan pa namin i-work out yung mga lapses namin all throughout this game para maging pulido pa yung mga galaw ng bata,” said Adamson head coach JP Yude.
Adamson quickly took control of the third set, racing to a 14-3 lead behind Mordi’s attacks and a quick hit from Kamille Dionisio. The Lady Knights tried to rally late, but Eloisa Dote and Red Bascon delivered the finishing blows to complete the sweep.
The Lady Falcons (6-0) now aim for an elimination-round sweep against Ateneo de Manila University on Sunday, September 7.
Letran (2-3), paced by Judiel Nitura with 13 points, dropped into a tie for fourth place with University of Perpetual Help System Dalta. The Lady Knights will try to bounce back against Ateneo on Saturday, September 6.
