Bryan Bagunas and Marck Espejo remain locked in training with the 21-man pool as Alas Pilipinas sharpens its form for the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship, just nine days before the country hosts the event for the first time.
“I’m excited, but we’re still focused on training so we can bring out the team’s full potential,” Espejo said during the MRT3 Go Live! event on Wednesday to promote the nation’s hosting of the 32-team tournament.
“This is a big tournament, of course, but all of us are ready,” he added. “As a team, we still have a long way to go, but we’ve also come a long way since we started training together, especially during our training camp in Europe.”
Final tune-up before MOA Arena debut
The national squad recently concluded a two-week training camp in Morocco, Romania, and Portugal under Italian coach Angiolino Frigoni. Their readiness will be tested when Alas Pilipinas opens its campaign against Tunisia at 6 p.m. on September 12 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
A grand opening ceremony will follow, headlined by K-pop group BOYNEXTDOOR and Filipino artist Karencitta. Tickets are available at philippineswch2025.com
