Adamson University kept its spotless record intact after pulling off a comeback sweep of College of Saint Benilde, 25-22, 25-13, 25-20, in the 2025 V-League Collegiate Challenge on Tuesday, August 19, afternoon at the Paco Arena Events and Sports Center in Manila.
The Lady Falcons, fresh from a gritty five-set win over Far Eastern University last week, showcased their composure in the third frame where they rallied from a seven-point hole to deny the Lady Blazers a chance to extend the match.
Nitura shines in Adamson’s unbeaten run
UAAP Season 87 Rookie of the Year Shaina Nitura delivered another all-around performance, finishing with 18 points on 16 attacks and two aces while also collecting eight excellent receptions and seven excellent digs. Her steady play proved crucial in Adamson’s 3-0 start to the tournament organized by Sports Vision.
“Maganda yung efforts ng bata on how they responded sa mga situations, especially doon sa third set na we were down by seven points, but they responded well and binalik nila yung focus nila. They worked hard para makuha pa rin namin yung game na ito,” said Lady Falcons head coach JP Yude.

He added that Adamson’s strength continues to be its collective effort:
“I’m very happy and very glad that they are contributing na lahat sila. Hindi lang si Shaina, but we’re trying our best sa training na i-push ang bawat isa na mag-contribute ang lahat.”
Lady Falcons turn back Benilde’s surge
Benilde surged to a 10-3 lead in the third set, but Adamson answered with a 10-3 rally of its own to level the frame at 13-all. The Lady Blazers still held a slim 19-18 advantage, before Nitura, MG Del Moral, and Kim Rocha spearheaded a 5-1 finishing run to seal the sweep in just 79 minutes.
Earlier, Adamson eked out a tight opening set win before dominating the second behind Nitura’s firepower, Del Moral’s quick plays, and setter Fhei Sagaysay’s crafty 1-2 attack.
Abby Segui added 11 points on eight attacks, two blocks, and an ace, plus five excellent digs, while Del Moral and Sagaysay chipped in six and five points, respectively. Sagaysay also tallied 16 excellent sets in the victory.
Benilde absorbs first loss
The Lady Blazers, who had swept their first three assignments against Perpetual, Letran, and Ateneo, fell to 3-1 after the defeat.
Zam Nolasco led Benilde with 13 points on 10 attacks and three blocks, while Shahanna Lleses and Cristy Ondangan scored seven and six, respectively.
