Team Philippines wrapped up its 2025 World Games campaign in Hengdu, China, with a total of two silver and two bronze medals after 11 days of competition in non-Olympic sports.
Powerlifter Joyce Gail Reboton and the duathlon squads led by Kim Mangrobang and Franklin Yee closed the country’s bid on the final day of action. Despite their determined efforts, the Filipinos fell short of the podium.

Reboton finishes sixth in powerlifting
Reboton competed in the women’s equipped super heavyweight division, where she finished sixth overall with 94.52 points. Her lifts included a 240-kilogram squat, 147.5kg bench press, and 207.5kg deadlift.
Canada’s Rhaea Danielle Stinn claimed the gold medal with 109.24 points, highlighted by a tournament-best 210kg bench press. Ukraine’s Daria Rusanenko (108.98) earned silver, while Mary Jane Krebs of the US (104.93) secured bronze.
In the men’s lightweight division, Regie Ramirez also fell short of the podium, placing eighth with 96.70 points.
Duathlon teams battle hard in relay
The duathlon squads closed out the Philippine participation, with Mangrobang and Yee posting the best local finish in the mixed team relay. The duo clocked 1:23:54 for 11th place.
Spain’s Maria Zubiri and Javier Morales captured gold in 1:19:21, edging the Netherlands’ Aline Kootstra and Valentin Van Wersch by just three seconds.
Overall, the Philippines’ medal tally came from Kaila Napolis (silver, ju-jitsu), Chezka Centeno (silver, billiards), Carlos Baylon Jr. (bronze, wushu sanda), and Aislinn Yap (bronze, sambo). The campaign was supported by the Philippine Olympic Committee under President Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino and the Philippine Sports Commission.
