The FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2025 excitement swept through Cebu City on Saturday as the “Set Na Natin ’To” Trophy and Mascot Tour drew a large crowd at SM Seaside. Fans cheered as world championship ambassador Eya Laure joined the festivities alongside Cebu’s own Karrencita, who performed the official theme song Electrifying. The mascots Koolog and Kid Lat energized the audience with chants of “Laban Alas, Laban Pilipinas!” in support of the national team.
Philippine National Volleyball Federation and Asian Volleyball Confederation president Ramon “Tats” Suzara shared his enthusiasm, saying, “The excitement and enthusiasm toward the FIVB world championship is getting hotter and hotter. The world championship will indeed be a unique and unforgettable experience for Filipino fans.” Suzara is closely monitoring preparations for the September 12 to 28 event hosted in Bangkok, while also following the progress of Alas Pilipinas Men, who just completed their second European training camp in Romania.

Cebu joins global volleyball spotlight
The Cebu leg of the trophy tour was welcomed by Gina Calvez of the Cebu City Sports Commission, Neal Brylle Guillen from the Department of Tourism Region 7, and Dianne Calvez, Cebu City sports program coach. The event highlighted the city’s strong support for volleyball and marked one of several regional celebrations ahead of the championship. The tour will continue in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte on August 24 and Cagayan de Oro City on August 31, ensuring nationwide excitement leading into September.
Alas Pilipinas Men gear up in Europe
While the promotional tour continues in the Philippines, Alas Pilipinas Men are hard at work in Europe. The team traveled from Piatra Neamp to Bucharest, Romania, before heading to Portugal for their final three-leg training camp. The squad opened their European training program in Morocco last week, building momentum and preparing for the world stage. Suzara also urged fans to secure their tickets early through the official website at www.philippineswch2025.com.
