Shaina Nitura marked her return to Adamson University with a spectacular performance, scoring 28 points to lead the Lady Falcons to a nail-biting five-set win over Far Eastern University, 25-22, 25-21, 17-25, 22-25, 15-11, in the 2025 V-League Collegiate Challenge on Tuesday, August 12, at the Paco Arena Sports and Events Center in Manila.
Fresh from her stint with Alas Pilipinas in the SEA V.League, the sophomore outside hitter tallied 27 attacks and a block in her V-League debut. Her offensive surge helped Adamson improve to 2-0, tying De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde at the top of the standings.

Nitura takes over in the clutch
Nitura delivered five crucial points in the deciding frame, giving the Lady Falcons a 13-10 edge before libero Althea Aposaga’s unreturned ball and Lhouriz Tuddao’s quick attack sealed the two-hour, 19-minute battle.
“Siguro ang naging problema talaga is ‘yung passing namin… pero it was a good challenge rin for us,” said Adamson head coach JP Yude, noting how the team’s resilience was tested after surrendering the third and fourth sets.
Mordi, middle blockers provide steady support
Frances Mordi followed up her strong opening game with 15 points on 12 kills, two blocks, and an ace. Tuddao and MG Del Moral added eight markers each, showcasing the Lady Falcons’ depth and familiarity — many having come from Adamson’s high school program.
Adamson started strong, taking the first two sets despite FEU’s mid-set rallies. The Lady Tamaraws battled back behind Gerzel Petallo’s 18 points and debuting middle blocker Jaz Ellarina’s 16 points, including seven kill blocks, to force a decider.
