Scott Vincent is back in contention on familiar turf, surging into a two-shot lead at the halfway stage of the 2025 International Series Morocco with a brilliant seven-under-par 66 at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam.
Vincent taps into African roots to seize control
The Zimbabwean native, whose game has been steady all season, drew confidence from playing on grass imported from his homeland. Vincent carded the lowest round of the tournament so far to reach a two-day total of nine-under 137. His second round featured a birdie barrage from the 11th to 18th holes, adding more on the second and third before a late bogey on the ninth slightly cut into his advantage.
Still, the 33-year-old held off Australia’s Maverick Antcliff, who followed up with a solid 70, and a charging Peter Uihlein, who faltered late with three bogeys in his final four holes.

“It actually feels a lot like the golf courses I grew up playing on in Zimbabwe, so there’s a bit of a home vibe going on,” said Vincent. “It was awesome. A lot of things went really well, so very happy about that. But tons of golf left.”
Vincent’s season includes seven top-12 finishes in ten starts, but he remains hungry for a breakthrough win in 2025. A victory in Rabat would be his first of the year and a boost in the Asian Tour’s race to the LIV Golf League.
Antcliff, Uihlein, and Campbell remain in the hunt
Antcliff, a three-time winner on PGA Tour China, trails Vincent by two strokes. The 32-year-old remains winless on the Asian Tour but praised his ability to recover from early trouble in Round 2, especially a standout birdie on the difficult third.
Uihlein looked poised to challenge for the outright lead before stumbling with late bogeys. The American, a two-time International Series champion in 2024, is tied for third at six-under with Thailand’s Suteepat Prateeptienchai, who fired a strong 67.
Defending champion Ben Campbell made a bogey-free 68 and sits tied for sixth at five-under alongside John Lyras, Charlie Lindh, Ekpharit Wu, and Yanwei Liu. The cut was set at one-over 147.
Thailand’s Nitithorn Thippong provided a highlight with the tournament’s first ace. Using a five-iron on the 206-yard second hole, the shot went straight in with the help of a perfectly judged bounce. He closed with a 71.
The 2025 International Series Morocco is the fourth of 10 elevated events on the Asian Tour calendar, offering a vital pathway to the LIV Golf League.
