Candon City, Ilocos Sur is bracing for another electrifying day of volleyball action as the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) On Tour returns with a stacked double-header at the Candon City Arena on July 29.

Petro Gazz vs Choco Mucho takes center stage

The main attraction pits powerhouse Petro Gazz Angels against title contenders Choco Mucho Flying Titans in what is expected to be a tightly contested battle. As part of the ongoing PVL On Tour pre-season series, this match carries extra weight with both squads looking to fine-tune their championship aspirations.

Petro Gazz, the defending All-Filipino champion, has a flawless record in Candon City. Their previous visits in 2023 and 2024 ended in dominant straight-set wins over Nxled and Farm Fresh, respectively. Another victory would mark their third straight sweep at the venue.

Choco Mucho, however, aims to spoil the party, bolstered by blue-chip rookies and a rejuvenated roster that has brought parity and unpredictability to this year’s tournament. Before their face-off, both teams will first be tested in key matchups against Farm Fresh and PLDT in Ilagan City on July 12 and 13.

Candon City continues to rise as a sports hub

This marks the third time Candon City hosts a PVL On Tour leg, further establishing its reputation as a premier sports destination in Northern Luzon. Mayor Eric Singson and the local government are once again pulling out all the stops to ensure a memorable event.

The Candon City Arena, equipped with modern facilities, continues to draw national events, thanks to its growing reputation and logistical readiness. Fans can also expect interactive fan experiences and meet-and-greets, part of the city’s initiative to boost community engagement through sports.

The day’s festivities kick off at 4 p.m. with Chery Tiggo taking on Capital1, promising another action-packed encounter ahead of the night’s main event.

As anticipation builds, Candon City is set to transform July 29 into a full-blown celebration of volleyball, community pride, and regional sporting excellence.
