CLAIRE WENIZAH VINOYA stamped her class with a dominant solo ride while Rush Camingao needed a thrilling sprint finish to take gold during Day 2 of the PhilCycling Tagaytay City Criterium 2025 on Thursday, June 26. Both Under-23 athletes showcased strength and poise in one of the featured events of the city’s 87th Charter Day celebration.
Vinoya, racing for Standard Insurance Philippines, left no doubt as she crossed the finish line alone in front of the newly built Tagaytay City Velodrome along Crisanto de los Reyes Avenue. Her commanding win in the Women’s Under-23 division netted her a gold medal and the P8,000 top prize in the criterium organized by PhilCycling and Tagaytay City under Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino and presented by the MVP Sports Foundation.

In contrast, Camingao of Victoria Sports Pro Cycling had to dig deep to edge out a close field and win the Men’s Under-23 title. His sprint finish earned him the gold and a P10,000 cash prize, capping off an intense day of action-packed racing in the scenic highland city.
Angelica Mae Altamarino and Kim Bonilla rounded out the Women’s U23 podium behind Vinoya, with Angelica Elvira and Angela Joy Marie Bermejo completing the top five and also securing cash awards. On the men’s side, RR King Roque took silver while Andrei Domingo, son of former Tour Sprint King Enrique Domingo, settled for bronze. Dave Eeron Cangayao and Steven Nicolas Shane Tablizo also finished in the top five.

The criterium series concludes Friday with the Men’s and Women’s Elite races, where gold medals and P10,000 prizes await the top finishers in a grand finale to Tagaytay’s Charter Day celebrations.
