Filipina-American striking star Jackie Buntan is set to chase her long-awaited dream as she returns to Muay Thai action, aiming to add a second world title to her name. The ONE Women’s Strawweight Kickboxing World Champion will challenge Stella Hemetsberger for the ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title in the main event of ONE Fight Night 35 on September 6 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Representing Boxing Works, Buntan has emerged as a leading figure in women’s striking, having taken over the legacy of her retired teammate Janet “JT” Todd as the face of American Muay Thai and kickboxing. Though her initial attempt at the Muay Thai belt fell short, she rebounded impressively with three straight victories in “The Art of Eight Limbs,” the last of which was a hard-fought win over Martine Michieletto.

Her Muay Thai resurgence set the stage for her shift to kickboxing, where she achieved a career-defining moment by outlasting the decorated Anissa Meksen to claim the ONE Women’s Strawweight Kickboxing World Championship.

Now, Buntan returns to her roots with gold in sight once again. But standing in her way is Stella Hemetsberger, a rising Austrian talent who is undefeated in her ONE career. After dominating the ONE Friday Fights series with a perfect 3-0 slate—including a head-kick knockout of Vanessa Romanowski that earned her a $100,000 contract—Hemetsberger will be making her main card debut with a title shot.

It’s a high-stakes showdown between two elite strikers—one seeking redemption, the other chasing destiny. For Buntan, it’s not just about the belt—it’s about legacy, identity, and realizing a long-held dream.
