Islay Erika Bomogao will finally get her moment under the Lumpinee lights as her rescheduled bout takes center stage at ONE Friday Fights 111. The Filipina Muay Thai standout takes on Narea Rubio in a 102-pound clash on June 6 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Originally scheduled to fight on March 28 at ONE Friday Fights 102, the bout was postponed due to an earthquake that impacted Myanmar and Thailand. The tremor reached Bangkok and disrupted the original fight card, forcing organizers to push her return back by over two months.
Redemption After Delayed Debut
Now back in fighting form, the 24-year-old from Team Bagsik is determined to build on her strong start in the promotion. She impressed in her last two appearances between November 2024 and January 2025, proving she belongs on the global stage.
Unlike many Filipinos still chasing contracts, Bomogao has already secured a deal with ONE Championship. That doesn’t mean she’s taking it easy—in fact, the pressure has only grown now that she carries the Philippine flag into every match.
Her profile continues to rise not just in the Philippines but across Southeast Asia, especially in Thailand and Myanmar. As Muay Thai becomes more international, Bomogao is emerging as one of the sport’s most recognizable Filipino names.

Aiming For A Better Outcome Than Peers
She also hopes to avoid the fate of fellow Filipinos who shared her original March 28 slot. Both Marwin Quirante and Jean Claude Saclag eventually fought at ONE Friday Fights 109 and suffered tough losses.
Quirante fell via TKO to Torepchi Dongak, while Saclag was submitted by Shazada Ataev—both ending their respective winning runs. Those results make Bomogao’s return even more critical as she tries to keep the Filipino momentum alive in Muay Thai.
The June 6 bout is not only a personal comeback but a chance to reassert her position as a fast-rising star in the region. With the spotlight back on her, Bomogao will be aiming to make her third scheduled appearance the most memorable one yet.
