Capital1 will usher in a promising new era after landing the first overall pick in the 2025 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Draft Lottery held at the TV5 Media Center in Mandaluyong. The result puts the Solar Spikers in pole position to acquire top-tier young talent and solidify their growing core.
Capital1 entered the lottery with a 30-percent chance and emerged victorious in the draw led by PVL MVP Michele Gumabao. Team owner Milka Romero expressed joy over the opportunity, highlighting how the pick levels the playing field for newer teams looking to compete with league contenders.

Rising teams shift PVL draft order landscape
Galeries Tower, with just two balls in play, clinched the second overall pick and aims to replicate last year’s success when they selected Julia Coronel at No. 3. Farm Fresh defied the odds to grab the third pick, jumping ahead despite holding only a 10-percent chance.
Nxled, the heavy favorite with a 40-percent probability, suffered a tough drop to fourth in a surprising twist. Meanwhile, ZUS Coffee, which struck gold with Thea Gagate as the 2024 No. 1 pick, now holds the fifth selection and seeks to build on their All-Filipino Conference momentum.
Bella Belen watch begins ahead of draft combine
Three-time UAAP MVP Bella Belen is widely projected to be the top prospect for 2025. However, her participation remains uncertain as she evaluates her options. She can still withdraw before the draft combine scheduled from May 30–31 at Paco Arena.
Cignal secures the sixth pick, while Choco Mucho edged out Chery Tiggo for seventh, pushing the Crossovers to eighth. PLDT sits at ninth, followed by Akari at tenth. Defending champions Petro Gazz will pick 11th, and powerhouse Creamline rounds out the draft order in 12th for the second straight year.
With Capital1 at the helm of the 2025 PVL Draft, all eyes will be on whether the Solar Spikers can select a franchise-altering player to elevate their trajectory next season.
