Al Ahli Tripoli (Libya) clinched their spot in the 2025 Basketball Africa League (BAL) Playoffs with a dominant 104-91 win over Nairobi City Thunder (Kenya) at BK Arena in Kigali. Five players scored in double digits for the undefeated Libyan squad, who extended their Nile Conference record to 4-0.
Former NBA Academy Africa standout Jean Jacques Boissy (Senegal) led the way with 26 points, while Mohamed Abdourahman (Libya) posted a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds. Uchenna Iroegbu (U.S./Nigeria) paced the Thunder with 23 points in the loss, as the Kenyan side fell to 0-4.

MBB Takes Down APR in Tight Contest
Made By Basketball (South Africa) secured their second straight win in the conference, outlasting hosts APR (Rwanda) 94-88 in a tightly contested showdown. Jovan Mooring (U.S.) fueled MBB’s attack with 29 points, eight rebounds and five assists, with Teafale Lenard Jr. (U.S.) contributing 19 points and seven boards.
Pieter Prinsloo (South Africa) added 13 points and seven rebounds while center David Craig (South Africa) chipped in nine points, 10 rebounds and two blocks. APR, led by Obadiah Noel’s 23 points and Youssoupha Ndoye’s 19-point, 10-rebound double-double, struggled with their shot in crunch time, hitting just 37 percent from the floor.
The Nile Conference continues Saturday with MBB (2-2) set to face Nairobi City Thunder (0-4) and Al Ahli Tripoli (4-0) battling APR (2-2). The 2025 BAL Playoffs begin on June 6 at SunBet Arena in Pretoria, South Africa.
