Jean-Jacques Boissy erupted for 30 points, including 18 from beyond the arc, to lead Al Ahli Tripoli (Libya) to a 115-87 victory over Nairobi City Thunder (Kenya) in the second day opener of the BAL Nile Conference. Jaylen Adams added 26 points and dished out eight assists as Al Ahli improved to 2-0 in dominant fashion.
The 115 points marked the highest single-game total in Basketball Africa League history. Al Ahli also controlled the boards with a 50-41 rebounding edge and showed elite pace and offensive efficiency throughout the game.

Nairobi City Thunder Outpaced Despite Iroegbu’s All-Around Effort
Despite the loss, Uchenna Iroegbu stood out for Nairobi with 18 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. However, the Kenyan side was overwhelmed by Al Ahli’s relentless perimeter shooting and transition game.
The defeat drops Nairobi to 0-2 and leaves them needing a critical bounce-back performance in their next matchup. Nairobi must now win to stay alive in the playoff chase.
APR Cruises Past MBB in Statement Win
In the second game of the day, home team APR (Rwanda) overwhelmed MBB (South Africa) with a 103-81 win to stay undefeated at 2-0. Aliou Diarra was a force inside, finishing with 22 points and 14 rebounds, including eight offensive boards that fueled multiple second-chance scores.
MBB fell to 0-2 after being outrebounded 50-38 and held to just over 35% shooting from the floor. Despite the loss, Teafale Lenard Jr. led the South Africans with 20 points, followed by Jovan Mooring with 17 and Pieter Prinsloo with 13.
Key Tuesday Clashes to Shape Playoff Race
The BAL Nile Conference resumes on Tuesday with MBB facing Nairobi City Thunder at 4 p.m. CAT. Both winless teams will fight for survival and a possible third-place playoff berth.
Later at 7 p.m. CAT, undefeated squads APR and Al Ahli clash in a high-stakes battle that could decide group supremacy. The top two teams from the Nile Conference will join the Kalahari Conference’s FUS Rabat (Morocco) and the best third-place finisher in the BAL Playoffs, set for June 6-14 in SunBet Arena, Pretoria.
