Former De La Salle University standout Tin Tiamzon is returning to the professional volleyball scene, suiting up for the Cignal HD Spikers as they look to revamp their roster for the 2025 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) season.

The three-time UAAP champion outside hitter last played for the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers before taking a break in early 2023 to reunite with her family in Canada.

Now back in the Philippines, Tiamzon brings with her years of experience developed under the system of longtime mentor Ramil de Jesus, whom she played under both in college and with F2 from 2015 to 2022.

“I’m just really excited to be back and play the sport I love again. I realized I won’t be as young as I am now. I feel like when I last played here, I didn’t reach my full potential. I think I still have a chance to do so and I don’t want to look back at my career and be filled with what ifs,” Tiamzon said.

Cignal finished outside of the playoff picture last PVL Conference and are looking to build its team this mid-year break, which also includes the 2025 PVL draft where it is slated to pick sixth overall from what many expect to be a loaded rookie class that will turn pro from the collegiate ranks.

“I’m also looking forward to seeing my former teammates and how we fare up against those teams. I’m excited to see their growth as players here in the PVL and the league too as a whole,” Tiamzon added.

Cignal head coach Shaq Delos Santos welcomed the addition of the veteran spiker, citing her potential to guide the younger members of the team.

“Sana with Tin on board, matulungan nya yung mga younger players namin. Since her days in La Salle, dami niyang experience in big games, championship games and sana madala niya dito yun. Looking forward kami to see ano pa yung mabibigay nya samin since bata pa naman sya and marami siyang macocontribute samin sa laro niya,” said Delos Santos.

Tiamzon also reunites with her former libero in college and in F2, Dawn Macandili-Catindig, as they will certainly try to lead the young squad to a playoff berth in the pro league this year.
