MVP Group, PNVF seal deal to stage 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship

The MVP Group of Companies, headed by prominent sports patron Manuel V. Pangilinan, has formally cemented its full support for the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) as the nation prepares to host the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship Philippines 2025 from September 12 to 28, 2025.

Pangilinan, alongside PNVF President Ramon “Tats” Suzara, sealed the landmark partnership during a ceremonial signing at the Lighthouse, Meralco Building in Ortigas, signaling another powerful collaboration following their successful hosting of the FIBA Basketball World Cup in 2023.

“It’s our pleasure to support PNVF. Two years ago, we successfully hosted the Basketball World Cup, and now it’s volleyball’s turn. It’s all part of our vision of promoting the Philippines as a prime sporting and tourism destination,” Pangilinan shared.

Building on Past Success Toward a New Sporting Future

Suzara and Pangilinan previously collaborated during the highly successful FIBA Basketball World Cup staging, and now they are poised to elevate Philippine volleyball to the global stage.

Hosting the FIVB Men’s World Championship marks the first time the Philippines will welcome the prestigious tournament, featuring the largest delegation in event history with 32 competing nations.

Alas Pilipinas, currently ranked world No. 57, is set to make a much-anticipated return to the world stage — the country’s first since the 1971 edition in Mexico.

Pangilinan added:

“Tats was instrumental during the FIBA World Cup, and now, we’re repeating the success for volleyball. Hopefully, next time, it’s the women’s turn. Our dream is to position the Philippines as a true sporting nation.”

Two months ago, Honda also came onboard as a major sponsor, along with the appointment of volleyball stars Bryan Bagunas and Eya Laure as official event ambassadors.
