Stallion-Laguna delivered a commanding 6-0 victory over the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in the 2025 PFF Women’s League over the weekend, keeping a share of the lead in the prestigious football tournament.
Chandler McDaniel ignited Stallion’s offense early, scoring in the seventh and 20th minutes. Her sister, Kala McDaniel, followed suit with a brace of her own, netting goals in the 26th and 67th minutes to spearhead the rout.
Sharpened attack powers Stallion
After a strong opening game, Stallion showed even more precision and cohesion against UST.
“The first game we still did well, but I thought that we, you know, took the week and … worked on what we needed to do,” said Chandler McDaniel, Stallion’s captain and former national team standout. “And we were able to finish a couple more chances.”
The improved finishing saw Stallion rise to six points with their second straight win, tying Kaya at the top of the table.

Kaya cruises past Capital1 Solar Strikers
In the other weekend fixture, Kaya FC asserted dominance with a 3-0 victory over the debuting Capital1 Solar Strikers at the Mall of Asia Football Pitch.
Dionesa Tolentin opened the scoring in the 21st minute, while team captain and national squad defender Hali Long doubled the lead in the 42nd minute.
Alisha del Campo capped Kaya’s victory with a goal in extra time, sealing their second consecutive win.
“We played together that’s why we got this win,” said Tolentin. “We followed the system our coach set up and we just added a little of our creativity on the field.”

UST stays focused on growth
Despite back-to-back defeats, UST remained optimistic. The Lady Booters are focused on building chemistry and improving their team play rather than chasing immediate results.
“So far, on our part, it’s going well because we don’t really aim for the score, we don’t really aim for the win,” said defender-turned-midfielder Rica Gerona. “We’re aiming for the build-up of the team, we’re aiming [to build] our chemistry.”
Strong title push from Stallion and Kaya
With both Stallion-Laguna and Kaya off to perfect starts, the race for the PFF Women’s League title is heating up.
Stallion’s dominant attacking display, led by the McDaniel sisters, and Kaya’s balanced performance with national team veterans signal two powerhouse squads in prime form.
As the tournament progresses, the battle for the top spot is shaping up to be a thrilling showdown between two of the league’s elite teams.
