Vietnam men pull off dramatic win
Vietnam faced a daunting challenge in their final qualifying match, needing to not only defeat Thailand but also win by at least six points to advance. Locked in a tight 10-10 battle, Christopher Dierker emerged as the hero, drilling three consecutive two-pointers before sealing a 21-15 victory with a free throw. The win secured their spot in the Main Draw, joining India, Iran, and Hong Kong, China.

Indonesia women rally past Macau
Indonesia’s journey was far from smooth after an overtime loss to Turkmenistan. Facing elimination, they needed a win against tournament favorites Macau. Led by Natasya Amelia Putri and Thasya Hery Saputera’s clutch shooting, along with Angelica Jennifer Candra’s presence inside, Indonesia turned a one-point deficit into a runaway 22-13 victory. Vietnam and Chinese Taipei also secured spots, joining the Republic of Korea in the Main Draw.

Mohammad Sina Vahedi (Iran) – Vahedi dominated with a 12-point explosion against Kazakhstan in a 21-6 rout before adding 10 more points in Iran’s 21-8 victory over Papua New Guinea.
