Thirty-three volleyball prospects, including 15 members of Alas Pilipinas, have been invited to participate in a series of tryouts to determine the final roster for three major international tournaments in 2025.

The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) confirmed that the invited athletes consist of top collegiate players, overseas prospects, and standouts from the Premier Volleyball League (PVL). PNVF president Ramon “Tats” Suzara emphasized the importance of assembling the best possible squad for the national team.

“These are quality young players from the professional league, overseas, and schools,” Suzara said. “This is a wish list of players I want to see representing our country.”

Three international tournaments on the horizon

The tryouts, to be supervised by Alas Pilipinas head coach Jorge Edson Souza de Brito, will determine the team’s lineup for the following competitions:

  • AVC Challenge Cup for Women – June 8 to 15, 2025

  • Southeast Asian V. League – Week 1 (July 25 to 27), Week 2 (August 1 to 3)
