Kaya, Stallion dominate PFF Women’s League Opener

The PFF Women’s League 2025 kicked off with powerhouse performances from Kaya FC-Iloilo and Stallion Laguna FC, as both clubs secured decisive victories at Mall of Asia Football Pitch over the weekend.

Kaya overwhelmed University of Santo Tomas (UST) 8-0, fueled by a hat-trick from Mexican striker Julissa Cisneros, while Stallion shut out University of the Philippines (UP) 2-0 in a hard-fought contest.

Kaya FC-Iloilo Crushes UST

Kaya wasted no time asserting its dominance against UST, with Cisneros opening the scoring in the eighth minute. Just two minutes later, Philippines national team captain Hali Long doubled the lead, setting the tone for an offensive onslaught.

Cisneros completed her hat-trick with goals in the 47th and 68th minutes, while Julia Humphreys (40’, 79’), Janly Fontanillas (43’), and Dionesa Tolentin (64’) also found the back of the net.

Despite the lopsided scoreline, Cisneros acknowledged UST’s effort, saying:

“Even though the score doesn’t necessarily reflect it, they didn’t let down even for a second. I think that they tried the whole 90 minutes plus. It’s going to continue to be a good competition.”

Stallion Laguna Shuts Out UP

In the second match, Stallion Laguna FC secured a 2-0 victory over UP, earning three points to sit alongside Kaya at the top of the standings.

Midfielder Siera Castles put Stallion ahead eight minutes into the match, while Kala McDaniel doubled the lead before halftime. From there, Stallion’s defense, led by right fullback Rhea Chan, held firm to preserve the clean sheet.

“We came out strong, but UP made it difficult for us, especially defensively,” said Chan. “They gave us a hard time, but we found ways to break them down.”

Next Matchup: Kaya vs. Capital1
