Denice Zamboanga gears up for ONE Interim Atomweight World Title clash at Lumpinee Stadium

Denice “The Menace” Zamboanga is ready to step into the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on January 11, 2025, for her highly anticipated ONE Interim Atomweight MMA World Title fight against Alyona Rassohyna. With her eyes on the gold, Zamboanga is determined to make a bold statement in the cage.

Motivated by the opportunity to claim her first title in ONE Championship, Zamboanga is prepared to silence critics who believe Rassohyna holds a grappling advantage. The Filipina fighter, however, is confident that the Ukrainian’s skills have not yet faced a true test.

“I haven’t seen her face a true grappler or wrestler,” Zamboanga shared. “It’s always a striker, which allows her to dominate on the ground. In this fight, I’d like to prove that I’m a better grappler.”

Zamboanga also believes her recent activity inside the cage will work to her advantage. Fresh off a gritty victory against Noelle Grandjean, she feels well-prepared for this challenge.

Rassohyna, by contrast, has been away from competition, taking time off to give birth to her daughter. While Zamboanga acknowledges this, she expects her opponent to return with renewed determination.

“I feel like my main advantage would certainly be my activity,” she said. “She hasn’t competed in a long time, and I’m way more active.”

Even so, Zamboanga remains cautious. She knows Rassohyna’s hunger and inspiration—fueled by her family—could make this fight even more dangerous.

“I feel like she’s gonna come out hungry,” Zamboanga said. “Her hunger to win will be there. Her inspiration would be her family for sure.”

With so much on the line, fans can expect an explosive showdown at ONE Fight Night 27.
