The Cignal HD Spikers showcased their dominance once again, clinching their eighth Spikers’ Turf title after defeating the Criss Cross King Crunchers in straight sets, 25-19, 25-19, 26-24, at the Philsports Arena. The victory cemented Cignal’s position as a powerhouse in Philippine volleyball, thanks to their unmatched composure and championship pedigree.

Despite entering the finals with momentum after a stunning semifinal victory over Cignal, Criss Cross faltered when it mattered most. Guided by head coach Dexter Clamor, the HD Spikers executed strategic adjustments that turned the tide in their favor.

Louie Ramirez spearheaded Cignal’s offense with a brilliant 24-point performance, supported by Wendell Miguel, who added 15 points. Ramirez described the win as a redemption story, especially after a tough semifinal loss to the same team. “I just went all out and played well,” he shared in Filipino, crediting his connection with playmaker Owa Retamar for their success.

The third set encapsulated Cignal’s resilience as they rallied from a four-point deficit to secure the title. A quick attack by Martin Bugaoan and an attack error from Criss Cross sealed the victory.

The loss was bittersweet for Criss Cross, a squad featuring former Cignal standouts. Despite a strong roster, they struggled to maintain composure under pressure, falling short against their former team.

Led by Shawie Caritativo, who scored 14 points despite an ankle injury, Savouge showed resilience and teamwork to cap their tournament with a podium finish.

Head coach Sydney Calderon praised her team’s grit, saying, “We always give 110 percent effort, no matter the opponent.” Key contributions from players like JD Diwa and Jhun Lorenz Senoron made all the difference, showcasing Savouge’s chemistry and heart.

As both the Cignal HD Spikers and Savouge Spin Doctors celebrate their achievements, the Spikers’ Turf Invitational Conference highlighted the passion, skill, and determination driving Philippine volleyball to new heights.
