Ramon “Tats” Suzara continues to make waves in global volleyball leadership. After being elected president of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) in September, Suzara has now been named Executive Vice President (EVP) of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
“It’s a great distinction and honor to be named as executive vice president of the FIVB because it will give Philippine volleyball great opportunities ahead,” Suzara said.
Suzara will serve as EVP for four years under the leadership of Fabio Azevedo, who was elected president of the FIVB during the 39th General Assembly held in Porto, Portugal.
“Not only will our national teams benefit, but the entire Philippine volleyball community,” Suzara added. He expressed gratitude to former FIVB president Dr. Ary Graça and the new president, Fabio Azevedo, for entrusting him with this prestigious position.
Suzara’s new role complements his responsibilities as president of the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) and the AVC. During the FIVB Congress, Suzara presented a comprehensive preview of the Philippines’ first solo hosting of the FIVB Men’s World Championship, slated for September 12 to 28 next year.
Suzara’s leadership team at the congress included PNVF Vice President Ricky Palou, Secretary-General Donaldo “Don” Caringal, and Director Tonyboy Liao. Together, they showcased the Philippines’ readiness to bring world-class volleyball to the forefront.
This significant appointment is expected to open doors for Philippine volleyball, fostering development and international recognition.
