Denice Zamboanga vs. Alyona Rassohyna: ONE Interim Atomweight title clash at ONE Fight Night 27

After a challenging year of injuries, Filipina MMA fighter Denice “The Menace” Zamboanga is back, fully prepared to chase ONE Championship gold. Zamboanga, currently ranked #2 in the atomweight division, will face Ukrainian MMA contender Alyona Rassohyna for the ONE Interim Atomweight World Title at ONE Fight Night 27, scheduled for January 11, 2025, at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Zamboanga was originally set to challenge ONE Atomweight World Champion Stamp Fairtex earlier in the year. However, a torn meniscus sidelined Stamp, leading to Zamboanga’s opportunity for the interim title, first scheduled in October. Unfortunately, a hamstring injury forced her to postpone the bout, but now, fully healed, Zamboanga is ready to step back into the ring with renewed strength and determination.

“I’m really excited for this fight against Alyona Rassohyna. She’s a tough, skilled opponent, and I know it won’t be easy,” Zamboanga shared. “But I’ve been training hard, and I’m determined to bring that belt to the Philippines.”

A victory in this match could pave the way for a showdown against Stamp Fairtex, where Zamboanga would aim to unify the belts and become the undisputed ONE Atomweight World Champion. With a fierce competitor like Rassohyna, who holds a win over Stamp, Zamboanga knows she must be at her peak to succeed.

“To my friend Stamp, wishing you a quick recovery! Once you’re back, I can’t wait for us to meet in the Circle,” Zamboanga said. “But for now, my focus is on this fight with Alyona and making the most of this chance.”

Fans worldwide are eagerly awaiting this high-stakes matchup at ONE Fight Night 27, a night that promises to be pivotal in Zamboanga’s journey to the top of the atomweight division.
