Support PH Paralympians at Paris 2024 Paralympic Games

Philippine Sports Commission Chairman Richard Bachmann is calling on all Filipinos to rally behind the country’s six Paralympians as they compete in the 2024 Paralympic Games, which open on August 28 in Paris, France. For the first time, the event will kick off at the iconic Place de la Concorde and Champs-Elysees.

Bachmann emphasized the importance of extending the same level of support to the Paralympians as was given to the Olympians. The PSC has invested in the training of these athletes, ensuring they arrived in France early to acclimatize.

“We spent for our PH Paralympians to train in France early, just like our Olympians,” said Bachmann, who will be in Paris to support the athletes. He expressed optimism that the team, particularly in athletics and swimming, has strong medal potential.

Among the athletes representing the Philippines are para track and field stars Jerrold Mangliwan and Cendy Asusano, swimmers Ernie Gawilan and Angel Mae Otom, taekwondo jin Allain Ganapin, and archer Agustina Bantiloc. They have been training in Nimes, France, since August 11 and are now settled in at the Paralympic Village.
