In a grand celebration of Philippine sports excellence, Chooks-to-Go and Bounty rewarded Carlos Edriel Yulo, the Paris Olympics double gold medalist, with a P3-million incentive. The awarding ceremony took place on Friday, August 23, during the grand opening of Chooks! at Festival Mall in Muntinlupa, marking the company’s 38th dine-in restaurant.
Despite not being an official athlete or endorser for Bounty, Yulo’s historic achievements in the French capital, particularly his gold medals in the floor exercise and vault of the men’s artistic gymnastics, earned him national acclaim and brought immense pride to the Philippines.
Bounty Fresh Group Holdings CEO Atty. Kenneth Cheng, Vice President for Corporate Marketing and Chooks-to-Go Inc. Executive Vice President for Operations Patricia Cheng-Lim, Chief Finance Officer Diane Choi, and Festival Mall manager Yvette Dizon were among the distinguished attendees at the ceremony. Other sports icons such as Atlanta Games silver medalist Mansueto “Onyok” Velasco, Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist Eumir Marcial, fellow Paris Olympian and fencer Samantha Catantan, and triathlon star Nikko Huelgas also graced the event. Gymnastics Association of the Philippines chief Cynthia Carrion accompanied Yulo.
Carlos Yulo, at 24 years old, is on the path to becoming the greatest Filipino Olympian, unless future athletes surpass his remarkable achievements. His contributions to Philippine sports reflect the spirit of excellence that Chooks-to-Go and Bounty aim to promote.
During the event, Chooks-to-Go and Bounty reiterated their commitment to supporting Philippine sports and expressed their gratitude to the fans who have been a crucial part of Yulo’s journey. “Chooks-to-Go and Bounty have always been more than just a brand; they are a beacon of hope for Philippine sports,” said Patricia Cheng-Lim.
For nearly a decade, Chooks-to-Go and Bounty have significantly contributed to the growth of Philippine sports. Their support extends to initiatives such as Special Olympics Pilipinas, recognition from the Philippine Olympian Association, and backing para-athletes, including the Philippine Warriors, the national wheelchair basketball team.
The grand opening of the Chooks! Restaurant not only celebrated Yulo’s Olympic achievements but also provided fans with the opportunity to participate in the festivities and witness the unwavering dedication of Chooks-to-Go and Bounty to advancing sports in the Philippines.
