ROTC Games: Simple ceremonies to usher in 2023 National Competitions

A simple ceremony will usher the start of the 2023 ROTC Games National Championships on Sunday, October 22, at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.

The ceremony is slated at 3:00 p.m. featuring a cheerleading exhibition and a cultural performance from the PMC Marine Drum and Bugle Team, the NU Dance Company and the UP Filipiñana Dance Troupe.

Delegates from the Navy, Air Force and Army are also scheduled to have a parade of colors, along with the organizing agencies Department of National Defense, the Philippine Sports Commission and the Commission on Higher Education.

Pasay City Mayor Emy Calixto is also set to give the opening remarks, while DND’s Gilbert Teodoro, CHED’s Prospero De Vera and PSC Chairman Richard Bachmann are expected to deliver messages.

Hon. Carlito Galvez Jr. is also set to deliver the keynote address.

Around 800 student-athletes who shone in the regional legs held in Cavite, Iloilo, and Zamboanga are expected to compete in seven sports such as arnis, athletics, basketball, boxing, kickboxing, volleyball and esports.

Events in athletics, boxing, kickboxing and volleyball also fire off on the same day in various venues.
