The John To-led Philippine Sibol team dropped out of contention in the Dream Three Kingdoms 2 quarterfinals of the 2023 Asian Games esports event at the Hangzhou Esports center on Thursday, September 28.

To, who took over the top position from Robert de Guzman, met stiff opposition with his teammates and suffered a 0-2 loss to Hong Kong.

Law Hing Lung and the Hong Kong squad went on to reach the semifinals with Thailand, which finished off Kyrgyzstan.

It was De Guzman, who was at the helm when he and his teammates first turned back the Sardor Azimov-led Uzbekistan, 1-0, in the Group B on Wednesday.

On Friday, the Philippines tries again to make a dent on the field as Brylle Alviso spearheads Sibol’s quest for glory in Group A of the Dota 2 hostilities.

Alviso and his crew first take on India before taking on Kyrgyzstan in the esports competition that is making its debut in the Asian Games.
