PLDT continued its strong PVL On Tour campaign with another straight-set win, this time dismantling a listless Petro Gazz side, 25-22, 25-15, 25-16, in front of a packed crowd at the Capital Arena in Isabela on Saturday (July 12) night.
After sweeping Farm Fresh in its opening match, the High Speed Hitters replicated their clinical form, this time outclassing the defending All-Filipino Conference champions who struggled to find rhythm without Alas Pilipinas standouts Brooke Van Sickle and MJ Phillips.

Prado shines in bounce-back journey
Jovie Prado, steadily returning to top form after injury, paced PLDT with 12 points and 13 excellent receptions to earn Player of the Game honors. Her consistency and energy helped lead a well-balanced attack that kept the Angels on their heels all match long.
“Sobrang worth it,” said Prado of the swift 80-minute triumph. “This is what I’ve been working hard for—getting back to my level.”
Majoy Baron matched Prado’s 12-point output, capping her night with three straight hits to close out the match. Kim Dy added 10 markers, while Kiesha Bedonia and Mika Reyes chipped in nine and eight, respectively.
Disciplined defense and seamless transitions fuel PLDT’s rise
Though outscored in attacks during the opening frame, PLDT’s superior blocking and floor coverage made the difference. Setter Kim Fajardo steered the offense with 14 excellent sets while consistently finding her targets thanks to precise first touches and strong defensive setups.
Baron and Reyes anchored the net with three blocks apiece as PLDT outblocked Petro Gazz, 10-4. They also scored 22 points off the Angels’ errors while committing just 15 in return.
Myla Pablo led Petro Gazz with 16 points but received minimal support. Jonah Sabete had nine, while Aiza Pontillas added just three in a match where the Angels never found their footing.
With the win, PLDT improved to 2-0 and joined idle Nxled atop Pool A. Petro Gazz dropped to 1-2.
