SBP unveils Gilas Pilipinas 3×3 Men roster for FIBA Asia Cup

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas is ramping up its efforts to build a competitive 3×3 program, assembling a roster and support system aimed at sustaining its push toward the Los Angeles Olympics.

With the FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup fast approaching, the federation has locked in a lineup that blends professional experience and collegiate energy, backed by a growing network of stakeholders committed to the program’s long-term vision.

The move signals a more unified approach as Gilas Pilipinas 3×3 continues to establish itself on the international stage.

Gilas 3×3 lineup finalized for Asia Cup

The men’s team will be composed of Jerrick Ahanmisi, Chris Koon, Ralph Cu, and Sean Alter, representing a mix of talent drawn from both the PBA and UAAP. Their inclusion reflects the federation’s intent to maximize available resources across leagues in building a competitive national squad.

SBP Executive Director Erika Dy emphasized the importance of collaboration, noting the willingness of both the PBA and UAAP to release players for national duty. She underscored that assembling a strong team requires a collective effort, with multiple sectors contributing to the program’s growth.

Preparation has also been bolstered by additional players who joined training sessions, providing depth and valuable experience to the core group.

Stakeholder support fuels Olympic push

Beyond the roster, the SBP highlighted the role of its partners in strengthening the program. Support from basketball leadership, corporate backers, and training staff has created a more structured pathway for the team as it prepares for international competition.

Program Director Ryan Gregorio pointed to the backing of PBA officials and the cooperation of collegiate leagues as key factors in forming a competitive pool. At the same time, corporate partners have stepped in to provide additional resources, reinforcing the federation’s long-term vision.
