UST controls advanced divisions

In the women’s advanced division, Team GameVille UST 1’s Sofia Pagara and Khy Progella lived up to their billing as newly crowned UAAP champions. They outlasted fellow UST pairs Cheng Dadang and Angelica Del Mar, along with Cameron Villaluz and Francine Osis, to secure the top spot.

The men’s advanced division mirrored the same dominance as Smael Salon and Dom Gabito led another Team GameVille UST 1 triumph. They finished ahead of teammates Aldwin Gupiteo and JM Lagaran, as well as Mark Bihag and James Apdian, completing the Tigers’ sweep of the premier categories.

Growing field highlights decade milestone

Beyond the advanced divisions, Team UPLB Nyaw’s Charles Berosil and Airish Reyes captured the intermediate crown after prevailing over Team Wasak Crew and Team Jack N Jill. Their victory capped a competitive bracket that reflected the event’s expanding reach.

A total of 35 teams competed in the tournament, held in partnership with Beach Volleyball Manila, as Beach Volleyball Republic marked a decade since staging its first competition. Riding the momentum of Alas Pilipinas’ historic women’s gold at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, the league continues to position beach volleyball for sustained growth.
