BRAVE CF 91 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated events of the year, with African MMA superstars Nkosi Ndebele and Nicholas Hwende headlining the card in a high-stakes Bantamweight world title showdown. As if the Bantamweight belt wasn’t enough motivation, the fighters turned up the intensity during the press conference by adding a $5,000 wager to the mix.

The dramatic exchange unfolded on Wednesday in Bahrain as both fighters raised the stakes for their fight scheduled for Friday at the Khalifa Sports City Arena. Nkosi, the defending champion, promised to donate $5,000 to a charity of Hwende’s choice if the Zimbabwean challenger knocks him out. Hwende, on the other hand, will owe Nkosi the same amount if he fails to secure a knockout.

Initially starting with a $1,000 bet, the wager quickly escalated as tensions flared during their back-and-forth verbal sparring. Nkosi questioned Hwende’s knockout power, to which Hwende fired back, confidently predicting a knockout victory on fight night.

The showdown will not only determine the Bantamweight champion but also settle the debate over who is Africa’s premier fighter in the division.

Hwende enters the fight riding a two-bout win streak, boasting four finishes in his eight career victories. His last performance at BRAVE CF 82 showcased his power and precision, making him a legitimate threat to dethrone Nkosi.

Nkosi, however, is BRAVE CF’s first fully homegrown champion, having spent his entire professional MMA career with the organization. Known for his finishing abilities, Nkosi has achieved five stoppages in his eight wins. He’s looking to defend his title for the second time this year, following a victory over Jose “Shorty” Torres at BRAVE CF 82.
